It’s been awhile. A long while. But in the madness of March Madness, I am playing catch up. Two weeks ago today, Trent and I were in St. Louis for the Missouri Valley Conference basketball tournament. It happened to fall on a Friday off school, so we made the trek to St. Louis. It was a lot of basket ball. Seven games in three days to be exact. I never knew watching basketball could be so exhausting. But watching Creighton win three in a row to capture the conference title was all worth it.
Seven basketball games took up a good chunk of our time there. There wasn’t much sight seeing, but I did get a couple glimpses of the arch. You can’t go to St. Louis without one or ten pictures of the arch.
I secretly wanted to storm the court, but Trent didn’t seem too thrilled on the idea so we celebrated from the nosebleeds.
Our hotel was the old Union Train Station. Pretty cool. Old and fancy.
At the end of the weekend, we were lucky enough to drive back into Nebraska’s surprise March snowstorm. It was not so much fun, but we safely dashed through the snow just in time to enjoy a snow day on Monday.
I am now preparing myself for more basketball tomorrow. It is the alumni tournament and I am ready to cheer on the class of 2003…then, Sunday Creighton will take the court again. I even bought a new blue and white scarf tonight for the big dance. Happy Friday…
